
Brief
A partnership brief developed by South Staffordshire PCT and Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service based on the shared issue of young people smoking. The project outline was to work with young people to support a youth led approach to tackling the issues surrounding smoking and develop a media based resource.
Solution
We relish the opportunity to do something different so when the young people involved suggested creating comedy clips similar to the Inbetweeners,which we could use in a viral marketing campaign via social media sites - we jumped at the chance.
The following months the group developed scenarios and scripts that involved the smoker always looking like the fool. They then filmed and starred in each video focussing on a different issue of smoking each time.
When all videos are complete the group launched a website containing information for young people about the consequences of smoking and all the videos. Traffic was directed to the videos and the site via social media activity we supported the young people to perform.
