Solution
We identified that working with primary school children from different districts would mean the children would encourage their families to visit the website, to see their children on film, or the work they had produced.
The website was designed in consultation with children, it needed to be interactive but accessible to all including schools. Videos and games were created and uploaded in Flash to ensure they could be viewed on public computers where access to youtube etc is restricted.
The site was designed in a content management system that allows the council to develop additional projects with children and families and add the resulting resource to the website. This has continued to encourage new and existing visitors back to the site.
