Brief
Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service deliver fire safety curriculum material to local primary schools and for the past decade had been using the same printed material. Our brief was to develop new printed resources that teachers could use to educate children about fire safety.
Solution
We developed a intergenerational project that involved teenagers working with primary school children to explore ideas about how the material should look. The group identified a comic design as the solution so everyone developed a storyline that included key messages identified by the fire service.
The comic book was illustrated using sketches and ideas created by all age groups, printed and delivered to schools who welcomed the new resource.
