Brief
With a new community fire station being built at the heart of Cannock community, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service wanted to involve local young people in the development of interior art-work that could be installed inside the community area of the station. Art-work that represented the range of services they provide to the community.
Solution
As the project was youth led we briefed the volunteers aged 14-16 on what the fire service were expecting as they were given hard hats and flourescent jackets for their tour round the building site that was to be the new community station.
The group took hold of the task without hesitation producing 3 ideas for how the art-work could be produced and what it would include. These ideas were then presented to the service who opted for a projected arts piece created from thousands of photographs representing all sections of the service.
With their idea accepted the group were given access to all areas of the service to document how they operated using digital photography. The resulting animation was then created using digital animation software.
